GoHighLevel's default LC Email uses shared IP pools, meaning your deliverability is tied to the behaviour of thousands of other users. To stop emails from going to spam, you must migrate to a custom sending domain, configure SPF/DKIM/DMARC, and route emails through a dedicated SMTP provider.

GoHighLevel (GHL) is a powerhouse for CRMs and automation, but it has one notorious weakness: email deliverability. If you are using GHL's default lc.email or @leadconnector.net infrastructure, your emails are likely landing in the spam folder.

Why LC Email Destroys Deliverability

When you use GHL's default email provider (LeadConnector), you are placed on a shared IP pool. This means you share an IP address with thousands of other GHL agencies. If one agency sends spam, ISPs flag that shared IP.

The 3-Step Fix

Step 1: Set Up a Custom Sending Domain

Never send from a @leadconnector.net address. Connect a custom subdomain (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com) inside GHL's Email Services settings.

Step 2: Integrate a Dedicated SMTP Provider

Instead of LC Email, integrate a third-party transactional email provider via GHL's native SMTP integration. Providers like SendLayer, Mailgun, or AWS SES give you your own dedicated IP address.

Step 3: Strict DNS Authentication

Once your SMTP is connected, publish SPF and DKIM records that authorise your SMTP provider. Enforce a DMARC record (starting with p=none, moving to p=reject) to protect your domain from spoofing.
